Ahmed Sarsour, a Palestinian-Sudanese poet, and his family have been caught in two wars in as many years. After fleeing the conflict in Sudan, they returned to Gaza — only to be trapped there by another.
The Sarsour family is now in a desperate situation. Ahmed and his brother, both engineers, are unemployed. Their elderly parents, Hamid and Nefouz, need urgent medical care that is unavailable.
